London Tour A

Enjoy a day trip exploring London on foot, where there is so much to catch your attention. Gaze in awe at the London Eye, an imposing structure that offers some of the best views in the capital. Wander through picturesque, tranquil parks. Imagine what it was like to attend one of the lavish royal weddings at Westminster Abbey. On this walking tour of London, you will encounter the brilliant renaissance architecture of St Pauls’ Cathedral, the venue of many important services, including the wedding service of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer.  You will learn about the gruesome history of the Tower of London, including its uses as a bleak prison and site of bloody executions. The beautiful park with its many old trees offers stunning views of London’s skyline, including Canary Wharf and the O2, and was an Olympic venue - the equestrian events were staged in this fantastic setting. Take your time and browse at the many stalls of the unique and busy arts and crafts market. This London walking tour will take you to Kensington Palace, where your students will get to learn about its previous and current royal residents and imagine Queen Victoria’s immense pain and sadness as they visit the two monuments she dedicated to her beloved husband after his early death: the Albert Memorial, a decorative memorial, and the magnificent Royal Albert Hall, a practical memorial to the Prince, where the famous ‘Proms’ concerts take place every year.
